Ecohotel as a new economical trend- practices of being economical

Nowadays ecology in each part of business becomes important. Hotels are usually places where a lot of energy and various materials are used, but lately has shown a new trend among hotels, and they have started transforming into completely new hotels- ecohotels. In hotels are organized workshops related to improve working system of the hotel and to transform the attitude from normal style to eco style! This change demand a lot of effort, but it is usually worth doing it, especially when this change is a good promotion of your hotel. I am interested how ecohotels are constructed, created to be eco. Let’s analyze it!

I haven’t heard much about ecohotels in Poland till now. It is really going to be more and more popular. I would like to analyze the eco-system of hotel located in Zoliborz, near the capital of my country, Warsaw. This hotel matches perfectly to the environment of this green and quiet district of Warsaw, that is why owners of this hotel did not think much about creating there such a type of hotel. They knew that there should build something special and innovative- ecohotel.

First of all they use ecological form of heating, based on renewable energy sources. Water is heated by sun collector Vitosol 200-T even when the sky is covered by clouds. When these collectors do not work, water is heated by condensed  gas boiler Vitodens 200- W. Warm usable water, necessary for example in moments of big consumption of water, is stored in a huge isolated container 1000 l capacity. Consumption of water in bathrooms are limited  by installation of temporary batteries in wash-bowls and showers. Warmth of spent water is also used later, because it passes normally to sewage system, but this warmth is regained and it passes again to warm new water which is waiting in containers. It couldn’t be used betterJ
In the building there is installed central vacuum cleaner in order to get rid of the dust easily.  Moreover they segregate rubbish, regain materials. On the walls it is noticeable a lot of plants that in order to clean and humidify the air.

So as we can see hotel propagates eco attitude, but how does it look every day? Is it important for the hotel staff too? They say that, off course it is important but without exaggeration. They want to be  a nice place for people, who take care of ecological style of living and when they go out from their home and their travel, they just want to stay in an environment they are used to be. Place where are not able to see wasting of energy or not segregated rubbish.

At the front desk reception when guests do check- in, staff inform people about their way of leading a hotel, that is why each guest can know what about this hotel is. Leaflets and brochures about eco style used in this hotel are waiting in a hotel lobby. They also try to involve guests acting in this way of living. Guests can help in improving the image of the hotel and also to save more energy. It is just mutual process- hotel help guests in gaining some knowledge about eco life style, how to save energy in their houses, and at the same time guests help hotel in saving energy too which is connected with smaller billJ
Eco food is also a part of eco hotel, because they also can create something like eco-restaurant, that is not only concentrated on saving energy but also on serving healthy food. This is my proposition of Bio Menu:

Breakfast:
·         White cottage cheese with tomatoes.
·         Cup of green tea.
·         2 slices of integral bread.
·         Yogurt with cereals.

Lunch:
·         Courgette cream soup.
·         Soya goulash with rice or polish kasza with salad.
·         Fresh fruit juice.

Dinner:
·         Indian Samos  filled with cook potatoes and green peas.
·         Jelly with fruits.

As we can see idea of ecohotel is a very good idea. Maybe in this way in some part we can save the World and nature too?
